I have one, like it a lot. The rocker switch rudder takes some getting used to, though.

Get the X-52, I've had two X-45's, the X-52 is much better.

My personal taste  would be the stiffer feel of the X45 over the X52. The trottle setup of the X52 is good, but the stick is alot looser and flimsy compared to the X45.

No disrespect, but my experiences do not match you own.

Just for clarification, in my 15 years of flight simming, I have used pretty much all the high-end sticks.

CH F-16 Fighterstick, 2 of em
CH Combatstick
CH Propedals
CH Pro throttle

TM F16, 2 of em
TM F22, 2 of em
TM pedals
TM throttle

Logitech 3d extreme gold

Saitek X-45
Saitek X-52

The full CH HOTAS setup is my favorite, however all my CH stuff was gameport, and I have yet to upgrade to USB.

I bought the X-52 and feel it is on par with anything else I have tried to date. No deadzone problems, no weak springs, etc... It works great! All I need to buy now is a set of USB pedals and I'm good to go.

Grab the X52 if you like twisty sticks and the X45 if you don't.

I have an X45.  It's been going for a year and a half without the 8 way view button going out.

You can get the x45 from the saitek website for 40 bucks.  Just by the reconditioned one.  It comes with the same warranty.

you also have the risk of buying a bad stick or not getting it at all.  for 40 bucks for a x45 with warranty it's tough to go wrong.

I use the X45 with CH Pro pedals. Works well for me. I suggest you buy from Best Buy or Circuit City for lower prices. Also, purchase the exchange warranty as the hat switches on the X45 won't last a year under normal use.

i really like the old TM gear, imho the origional TM pedals are the best you can get if you are into realisticaly proportioned ww1 style pedals. just get the usb adaptor for the tm stuff and you can save alot of money.

TM = Thrustmaster? Are they still around? I thought they went under a long long time ago?
