Bring the amphibious Sherman to Aces High!

I asked for the Malcolm Hooded P-51B and got it. w00t!

The P-47N was finally introduced. w00t!

Now, how are you coming along on the amphibious Sherman tank with the calliope rocket rack?

And maybe the Pershing?

I'm getting tired of driving for Hitler and Stalin.  Patton wants me for his push through France!

um, how about getting JUST THE SHERMAN FIRST!!! besides, the amphib sherman was a flop because it could not cope with shore currents. as for the pershing, shut up! you will never get it. you are far more likely to be driving an IS-2. you need to learn more about history before you start making requests for tanks that had limited use.

Don't forget that the only thing a Sherman could take out in AH2 as it is now, is the M8, and even that would have a fair shot at killing the sherman!!

Panzers would be nearly invulnerable, tigers and t34s WOULD be invulnerable.

What you want is a Sherman Firefly wit h the British 17 pounder anti-tank gun or at least the upgunned Sherman with the high velocity 76mm gun.  They'd have a chance against the other tanks in the game.

The early Sherman with the short barrelled 75 wouldn't do you much good against the Tigers.

Caught a program on the Sherman on the History Channel.

They had a method for killing Tigers but lost on average 4 Shermans in the process.
#1 killed right off
#2,#3 drew fire spotting Tiger until killed
#4,#5 took opposite sides of Tiger and closed in on opposite rear quarters.
#4 killed
#5 got round behind before Tiger turret could traverse and put a round in the rear at point blank range.

There was some battle where very few Tigers killed 100's and 100's (as high as 400?) of Shermans before they themselves were killed.
Maybe someone can refresh my memory, France somewhere?

The B5N is one of those useless planes too, but we got that one didn't we? ;)

It's all about the historic usage, not about the quality.

Where does it say limited use has to come into play with what we get in AH??

And where does it say it??  I found several models of it with just a Google serch.

I would have said the same thing until Coral Sea, the last scenario.

The B5Ns were mostly responsible for sinking the entire Allied fleet so a hanger queen in the MA can turn into a very powerfull weapon in the right setting.

The up-gunned Sherman is needed.
Easy in-game again.

The Sherman was supposed to be an infantry support tank. The US Army had the Tank Destroyer units for taking care of enemy tanks.

The B5N, D3A, SBD, and Ju-87 could be more lethal if AH has Armor Peircing bombs (AP)

AP bombs on dive bombers would eliminate suicidal heavy bombers being used to take out CVs.

An AP bomb might not be too hard to simulate, either. Just give it ALOT of power, and minimal blast radius.

There is actually a blast readius for these bombs!! :rofl
Speaking from experiance... these bombs are nothing like real ones.  Not enough blast damage at all!

I wouldn't doubt France.  The bocage provided excellent ambush areas.  On equal terms, the defender generally has roughly half the casualties of the attacker.  Now toss in unequal terms in the form of Tigers and Panthers vs. tin can pop guns.

As far as allied gvs go:
Add Sherman 76mm (make it so it can penetrate tiger's rear armor from 50 yards)
Make it so T34 can penetrate tiger's rear armor from 100 yards
Add M18
Add Churchill
