how do you imagine TOD gonna be?

So far all I hear is speculation, I haven't seen/heard anything firm to date.  I know it was discussed at that con, but I wonder how much has changed since then.  I may try it, but you will probably be able to find me in the MA till I get tired of it all....

I wonder if there will be a rolling date. As in for every one day is an actual day during WWII. Allowing for such events like invasions and large scale raids.

MA? Where'd you get the idea there's gonna be a MA? I coulda sworn the interview article mentioned using the MA for TOD.  Then again maybe we lose the CT, DA or TA. Who knows?

I'd also rather wait and see than speculate on what may or may not happen. Besides 2 weeks ain't up yet, right? :D

I was in the Army and have no desire to do it again. A never ending scenario doesnt do it for me.

I picture it as continuous automated snapshot events on a larger scale. I hope the promotin and medal systom or such wont be like in WW2OL... where just about every second player is a general or sumpthin...  I hope it will be harder to keep up the interest in career building, but then again, not too hard... it should have some curve for career advancement.. IMHO . Maybe it could be based on player percentages..?... should have ups and downs in career and also demotions if things go bad or maybe even because of inactivity.. to make place for other "generals"  :)

.... Here eventually... maybe.

In all seriousness I was thinking the other night about the "large bomber groups". I have a pretty good rig and I average 50-60 fps. The 'only' time I have any problems is when I come across a misshun. 4-5 bomber groups and I start seeing a slide show.

Anybody else have this problem and if so what do you think TOD will be like?

That's my biggest worry too, Dip.  It's gonna take a top of the line system to handle the FR's of flying into a huge formation of buffs.

I do, but it only takes 1 set of bombers to bring me down to 5 FPS.  When text is set to 1024, it only drops to aroound 15.  Go figure, lol

I certainly hope that they will not do away with the Main Arena.

As for TOD, I personally have no interest. I expect the TOD to be just a jazzed up CT. There is a reason I don't fly in the CT; mainly because I don't like it.  Wow what fun, you get to fly a Zeke against a horde of F4u's or a Spit1 against early model 190s and 109s. Such imbalance is not my cup of tea.  I think the plane set in the MA gives you a lot of choice and balance.

And given the numbers who fly MA vs. the CT, it would appear that I am not alone in preferring the MA environment over the CT.  

Personally I don’t care whether or not TOD comes. And when it does, I hope some enjoy it.  But I also hope that HT will not decide to trash the MA.

No need to worry bout the MA .. the LA7/P51d/N1K1 come and go flyers are their  bread and butter, they wont cut off the hand that feeds em. Same reason those planes will never be perked.
