How many vacation days have you taken in the last year?
« on: March 29, 2001, 08:29:00 PM »
I have taken 4 days of vacation in the last year.

Technically I have 150 PTO hours piled up, but there is no way that I can take them.

I'm curious if this is a normal amount for you guys in the US?

How about you guys outside of the US?

150 hours? Damn, you have any idea what I would do with that? I'd take the girl of my heart out for a damn long week vacation (or if you're married, send her away and enjoy some true free time *G*)

I've taken 30 days split up into 5 day blocks so I get 6 full weeks off   Basically I take a week off every other month.

5 weeks after 20 years.

I take it all.

Lets see,

160 hrs PTO plus I can bank overtime upto 160 hrs (at the applicable O/T rate)      plus a Christmas shutdown of up to about 60 hrs. (depends on what day Christmas falls on)plus unbankable O/T and paid sicktime off....

I think I go to work sometime in May....
will have to check.

Here (a piggy socialo-comunist country  )

Legal time of work per week 35H if in an society > 20 people 39H elsewhere (we are 12   in RL 45+H/Week ) it grant you 5 week payed hollyday per year and 1 week more after 20 year ...

So I've took 3 week last year ...

5 weeks + 1 (not unusual) here.

Or, if you're a student, a long 2 month summer break  .

YEHAW.

Oh, and I got holidays coming up next week. 8 days. Yum  .

I took 2 weeks off for the first time ever last year.

The governing body of my industry requires you to take at least 5 days consecutive at least once a year.

When you work on commission, time off means a smaller income stream.

I am one of the fortunate people who loves his job.  To me its not a job, it is a way of life. I have been doing it for close to 20 years and everyday is still a new adventure.

Cheers,
