Nightmare Gameplay
« on: August 07, 2005, 06:47:47 PM »
What the Hell has happend the last week?
When I log my pings are now 90, 100, 110!!!And don't tell me it's on my end or that 90 pings does not matter.  In the 2 years of gameplay I have never seen planes warping like this or planes blowing up secounds after i Have shot them. And I have lost VOX more times in the last couple of days then the whole time I have been playing!!!!!And yes I have read all the post about spyware and running programs in the background!!!!Something has to be done!!!!!!

reading helpful, but doing much better.

To start with...

you need to  run 5-6 anti spyward programs (spybot, adaware, spykiller, spy sweeper, counter spy are what I use.  counter spy found a nasty something all the others missed. make sure they updated to latest definitions.  if you only run 1-2 spyware programs, they won't find all the spyware)

a GOOD anti-virus proggy (updated to latest definitions of course)

correctly re-installed drivers (many how to's on this on bbs.  I suggest Driver Cleaner for most driver installs, and if you are using an Nvidia vid-card, Detonator Destroyer is a MUST [follow the directions on it. also a must])

eliminated everything  not needed running in the background (may I suggest "Hijack This" AND LOTS of google time figurin' out what everything is.  If you not sure, type it in google.  great way to figure out what is/is not needed.  Be CAREFUL with Hijack this, it's a powerful tool not to be used lightly)

and finally, as a LAST resort, if all the rest has failed, send Skuzzy a DX diag. report.

Oh, and run a ping plotter 2 the MA i.p.  You ISP might have issues.

I say this because if it was on HT's end, the bbs would be CHOKED full of people screaming bloody murder, and it's not, and they aren't.  So there's a 99.99999999% chance it's prob. on your end.

g/l! reply if ya' need help w/ any of it.

Well you  might not want to be told its on your end, BUT until i see about 1000 other threads in tech support about it i would have to say its either your pc , or your isp . My ping hasnt changed , if it was HTC's server , wouldnt we all be complaining ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     38

edit  woops sry Lute you said the same thing

If you run a pingplot and find the bad spot on your route, you can send it to Skuzzy and he might be able to help by sending a letter to whoever runs it.  If you just post demands without any info to help, you are going to get nothing but more frustrated.
