I have 4 PC's in the office here sharing a ADSL line. As of lately it seems the ADSL speed has been cut in 1/2. Im wondering / looking for any software that can monitor the bandwidth to see which computer is using , what % of the band with we have.

3 PC's are on a wirless and 1 is hardwired to the router (linksys 54G+B)

Anyone got any suggestions?

Yea first thought is are you sure you only have 3 connected to the wireless side ?

lol very sure , im in the mountians of NC theres not a nieghbor close enough even for the B side of the wireless.

I don't know what to suggest... Maybe just check the network status on every PC (Ctrl Alt Del, "Networking" tab?) and add them up.

Also if you feel it's 1/2 as fast, call your ISP and ask them about their service. See if they have been making any changes and ask them if there's anything they can do to boost the signal. If you are that secluded and have DSL chances are you're pretty far from the central office and won't be able to get the most from DSL.

If your router supports SNMP, you can get statistical information on which IP address is using what bandwidth. If you have a WEB server running on your local network, you can try using MRTG (google it). It does a decent enough job.

You want Netstat Live, a freeware app at:
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm

It will tell you exactly how much bandwidth any computer it is installed on is using.
