Another fun year in Cardinal Nation.  But I hate to see this.

On the other hand the new stadium going up next to it is going to be nice.

It's all good though!  :D

I wasnt going to bother posting what I think of this.  It doesnt matter.  But I might as well have it recorded here too.

This stinks.

No, it doesnt just stink.  Its like taking a big swig of milk and realizing after the first two swallows that its bad, stomach curdling, puking your guts up until you have the dry heaves just from the smell bad, and you just swallowed it.  I think every one of the big-money (expletives) from the Cardinals AND from the legislature that pushed this through need to be taken out in the country and have their reproductive organs nailed to tree stumps and pour honey on them and let the ants do the rest.

They want an old-fashioned stadium only because everyone else is building them.  They HAD one.  They tore down Sportsman's Park to build Busch.  Now they say Busch is too "60s".  Bah.  They just want to rearrange the seating in a way they couldnt do at Busch stadium so they can put in more high-class seats and fewer cheap ones.  There wasnt a bad seat in the house at Busch Stadium.  I grew up watching the Cards play there.  I took my son to his first games there.  We watched the airshow during the VP Fair together in the upper deck while the Cards played the Reds for his first game in 98 I think.  He was 7.  God I hate politicians.

Agree 100 %!

There will less seats in the new stadium even!

I grew up with Busch Stadium also and really hate to see it go.  Took my 14 yr. old daughter to a game a couple of weeks ago.  Just had to go once more.

They're doing the same thing to Yankee Stadium.

Doesn't matter how much you hate (or love) the Yankees.. that BallPark is an Icon.. and just walking into it you're confronted with a sense of awe and wonder.. the history and love for the game of 10 generations of ballfans smacks you between the shoulders like the third base coach after a home run.

I took a group of little leauge kids there to play once in a State playoff.. they were uttery awed to silence when they walked out onto the field. So was I. You can feel it.. the Presence of History, Glory, Greatness.

The House that Ruth Built... an awsome edifice to The Game.

And they are gonna tear it down.

I dont even like the Yankees and I dont want to see Yankee Stadium torn down.  :(

One of the best things about visiting other cities (for me) is seeing their baseball stadium.  When we visited my grandparents in Akron OH I had to see the Indians play.  Not because I give a rat's arse about Cleveland, tis a dirty stinky hole.  And their baseball team suits them.  But just to say I'd been there, and see THEIR vision of baseball.  Every city should be unique, have its own "flavor".  Busch stadium IS St Louis, to me.  Its right there with the Arch and Union Station as landmarks.  Now they want them all to look the same.

Yea when I was at Busch a couple weeks ago it's like Hang says you can just feel it.

We were behind the dugout trying to get an autograph for my daughter.  It was about 105 down on the field and the humidity was brutal.  But I found myself looking around taking it all in one last time.  Didn't even notice the heat for a few minutes.  :D

I would like to go to a game at Wrigley Field once before they do the same to it.

Busch stadium is a classic, only reason they want to get rid of it is to put in more seats and make more money. Its a shame to take away a Classic St. Louis icon just because the owners of the stadium are greedy and rather make a few extra dollars instead of leaving it alone as a classic icon. Thats about the same as taking the  Arch and turning it into a square arch just because you can have more people on the observation deck and make a few extra dollars to hold a few more people. Just wont be the same going to St. Louis and not seeing the old stadium anymore.

The reason for the redesign of the major leage parks is corporate income. The old stadiums have plenty of seats, but not nearly enough luxury suits. Those suites are a goldmine and an absolute necessity in today's business of baseball.

It's a shame to see the old parks go, but the memories will remain. I've been to games at Arlington Stadium and The Ballpark at Arlington (Ameriquest). I have to say I enjoy the new park much better but it will never replace the memories of watching my first major league game or watching David Clyde pitch.

Texas Stadium is soon to go when the Cowboys move to Arlington. The only place I've seen an NFL game. Gonna miss it, but can't wait to see the new field.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Going to see the Riverdogs play Saturday after work. Minor League baseball is great. $8 for the best seats in the park, a good following, lots of easy to get (very short wait) food and beer. I love it.

I usually pay $6 for the lower section behind home plate instead of the $8 for the box seats above the home team dugout. I just might spring for the extra $4(me and wife) for the two seats Saturday.

Big Baseball Fan here.  Probably could even be said a Historian of the game.  Been a passion of mine for 50 years.  Have tons of books and memorabilia I've collected through the years.  Cards, world Series Programs, Autographed baseballs and team autographs on game hats and balls.

I live in NE Ohio...The "Jake" is a great park.....so is PNC Park in Pittsburgh....it's a throwback.

Three rivers was a Concrete Bowl....and Municipal Stadium in Cleveland was a pile of debris a best.

But....one thing I do remember.  As a young Lad going to Forbes Field in Pittsburgh.  Walking to my seat and seeing the Field for the first time....immediately I knew that Baseball was played there.  Honus Wagner....Roberto Clemente....the Waner Brothers, Mazeroski....Ralph Kiner and the list goes on.  The Pittsburgh Pirates in 1927 watching the New York Yankees take batting practice.  Some say when the Pirates saw the Yankees taking batting practice the Series was lost at that point.  The stories that Forbes Field, Wrigley, Yankee Stadium and Fenway Parks could tell.  We need them and most longtime baseball Fans from any city don't want these bastions of Baseball History torn down to satisfy the new breed of greedy owners and just as greedy players.  The game is owned by the Fan!

We've been betrayed. The players play for more money than god. They don't love the game anymore. They milk it. Same for the owners.

I go to pony leauge games now.. support the kids and young men that play the game for the joy of it.

The hell with the 'big leauges'. Traitors. Sell-outs. Rat bastards.
