Eagle CoH
« on: August 11, 2005, 10:46:46 AM »
Last Sunday afternoon my son and another scout were awarded their Eagle medals in a Court of Honor. At the regular Courts of Honor (non-eagle) the scouts don't say anything. But at an Eagle CoH they're expected to give some sort of remarks; like thanking everyone for all the help along the way, etc...

My son's a fairly good speaker. Been on debate team, editor for his high school year book, took speach classes in H.S. wants to major in Journalism in college (starts this month), etc, so we expected him to do OK. He turned it into a "roast" of sorts, of his former Scout Master and us (his parents).  Everyone else, he had nothing but thanks and praise for. But I knew we were in trouble when I heard the words "My Parents: what a pair you two are..."

At least everyone laughed.:o
