Its Friday..lets try something new

Seeing the big stuka raid last night reminded me how cool the game can be when people attack in all the same planes, in big raids. Tonight how about we declare any missions from 8pm et to 10 pm et be big raids only. Any type of plane, bomber, jabo,fighter sweep. But all the same type, and all launch together.

   I will do what I can on the Rook side to get people to try this, if guys on the bish and knits will do the same.  Of course many wont join in, but even 20 -30 out of your teams 80-130 people is better than nothing.

This sounds like every other Friday night hop in the SEA to me.Various large groups of the same plane on search and destroy missions.Would be cool to have all 109 emil's against hurri 1's or spit1's against ju88's . ect. You gotta the love the classic match ups .Good plan ,got my vote for what its worth.

What would be the objective of the giant 1 plane type raids?  To take bases or to fighter sweep/furball?  I guess what I am saying is that if the different missions don't run into each other it will just be a giant steamroll fest.  I suppose I have a win/win situation, because in one scenario I get to furball, but in the other I get to chase down those giant german stuka targets with my 262  =)

I'm up for it.  Let's say a B-24 Ploesti-style raid?  I will be leading a whole night of low-level, suicide buff runs against fighter hangers and GVs.

Well to prevent big groups hitting one place while the other is unopposed we could declare targets.  Rooks could announce to Bish A12 is primary effort, and to Knights A51. They in turn would report their main effort. The fighter guys from each country could choose whether they want to escort their bombers, or be interceptor and protect their base that is targeted. The guys who like to bomb could split into to groups,  each one attacking the main targets of the 2 enemies. I think we could have some pretty impressive fights.

  That way the defenders know a mass attack WILL be hitting the base they are protecting, and the escort guys KNOW they will be opposed.

I fail to see how 50 planes attacking a base can be fun.  However, if you anaounce that attack giving time to the deffenders to organize and meet the attacking force (not on the runway), that could be fun.

Yes thats what I mean. A CAP would already be aloft and ready.

  And I mean at greater than 15k alt for the attack as well.

Everybody takes a SBD-5 up to 20K with 1k centerline bombs and wing bombs. With 50 or so planes you should be able to take out VH, FH, Ack (small bombs) and level the entire town, then when the bombs are gone it can still dogfight with the best lol!!

Well I had stuff to do tonight but Id like to try this in the future. If a few guys from the 3 countries could get together and plan something along these lines.

Filth, I like the way you think.  Was that the stuka raid the one put on by the bishops?  It was fun.  Others should try it also.  If we can do it with lower numbers should be a breaze to others.  I had a good time even though I died shortly after taking out my asigned hangar.  Couple of the guys missed thier target otherwise the base should have easily been taken.  Practice makes perfect.

Never mind, read in another thread you were refering to the knights.  Maybe it was us bish that inspired them to do it?  We attacked them last night that way.  I can only imagine the numbers the knights must have put up.

It was a knight FB mission but it was supported by multiple squads. I dont remember all of them so I wont mention any as to not offend any I leave out. We do missions like this often and yes....it is great fun.
