Realism improvements

a) Fewer aircraft explosions from gun damage. Most downed aircraft should simply fall from the sky and crash instead of the 'poofing' that happens now.
b) Improved bomb and rocket explosion sprites
c) Improved shock damage from larger bomb explosions (not blast radius, but air compression shock damage)
d) Real runway craters from bombs, rockets, or falling aircraft.
e) Aircraft wreckage from downed planes that appear for 30 minutes as a burning obstacle. Especially on carriers
f) Steerable parachutes

IN for a b and f.  Afraid the rest would hurt frame rates and cause more whines than they are worth.  Great ideas tho.

Any obstacles on the flight deck or damage to runways just facilitates the tasks of those opposed to aerial combat in a game founded on it. Definite NO.

How about coolant vapor effects when inline engine equipped aircraft are hit in their cooling system.  It's seen a lot in WWII gun camera shots.
