Freehost is a hacked version of Warbirds. First a server was run by a bunch of Finnish theives, then the Russians, its theft plain and simple but the operators and Freehost apologists are under some 'Robin Hood' illusion of making Warbirds available for free for all taking it from the capitalist iEN. No ammount of rationalisation or comparison is going to make it legal in the eyes of the moral majority.

That bunch you mention, is one, by the way...
also warbirds was not hacked, just its traffic was being observed and host built to respond to those etc.
although, russians has hacked it, I believe.
(I hear they're adding new planes?)

this way people exagerates all the time

add: not that I would be defending it, but I don't see exagerating as good point either.

Whatever "freehost" is, it sounds OT.

Fishu you obviously know only scant information about this topic as your post is full of inacuracies.

But then judging on past posts thats par for the course for you.

Don't think that I don't know.
It needed one finn, not a bunch and software was not reverse engineered.
Russians are all diffent matter though, if thats what I hear is true (new planes etc?)

I dunno REvvin, looking at Fishu's post, it's a much more accurate account than your hyperbolic account coupled with an impressive success of combining in three lines straw-man, red-herring and question-begging.
The facts are, and have been confirmed by all the parties before, that the Russian server has no relationship whatsoever to the Finnish project.  Reports (and no, I wouldn't know) have it that one is a relatively efficient piece of C coding, the other a Java bandwidth hog.  Moreover, any host that functions with iLZ (=current versions of WB) will require at least that to be hacked, if not WB itself.
Moreover, your response is nugatory and an unmerited ad hominem attack: whatever Fishu's character is, it isn't gonna change the facts.

If you want to argue against these things, fine, but get your facts straight.  What I find really annoying is that WHENEVER in these topics someone mentions the facts, that person is immediately attacked as a supporter of the cause, and the thread inevitably dissolves into two sides:
A. THose who try to establish the facts of the matter.
B. Those who attack A as supporters of the cause.
They squeak for a while, and, if the thread isn't locked, the Russians show up and all hell breaks loose.

It's identical to attacking someone who says, "Marijuana is not a very addictive drug that people use recreationally" for supporting recreational use of Marijuana.

However much you hate the thing, the facts are not going to change.
So debunch your panties already.

I never said it took more than one person to hack it, it was that thief ITMO, what I did say was there was a server run by a bunch of finish guys, they had a server, news server and FTP site, quite a little industry of thieves.

The rest of it you obviously don't know, Hitech himself questioned itmo but he kept dodging the questions to prove he never hacked the WB FE

Dinger>

Itmo said he would not continue work on Freehost and yet on the news server they used he actively helped users create add-ons by releasing source code, he also gave advice to a few Russian users on the news server also.

Hitech questioned him on how he came about some of the information he gleaned to make the host, information that Hitech felt he could not have gleaned without hacking the FE, Itmo dodged his questions and blustered a few answers that did not prove he did not hack the FE.

Itmo claimed he created his host to give IMOL a kick in the pants..so why did he not just privately mail them about a security loophole..instead he announced he had created a host on comp.sys.flight-sims and AGW.

I know what I saw in their news server, indeed they threatened to prosecute me if I continued to post there debating their actions, as usual they resorted to insults, they got some back and then like a child threatened to take their ball home if I did'nt want to play nicely.

I have said my piece, laid the facts on the table, all Fishu can do is romanticize the whole affair like its some kind of Robin Hood steal from the rich to give to the poor, while he lives under such delusions there's no point in continuing this discussion.
