If you look at the screenie it does use the RAF font.

Does it look right to you?

A place to get a copy of a biography done on the Kidd

http://www.starduststudios.com/new.htm

And some images that were in that first thread but I'd deleted from picture hanger for some reason :)

Note that the wing stripe on the main wing was still black, even though it was an OD top.  It was white on top on the rear horizontal stabilizers.

And it did have full D-Day stripes for the invasion and the Russian Shuttle flight, so you have the option to do the May 44 version or the June 44 version

Looks darn close if not right on.  Gotta believe Salem Rep will get used a lot when it gets in game :)

On mixed color and baremetal skins its so hard to get metal and colors right. Colors either get too metalic or metal too painted.

Personally Im biased towards getting the metal right first and then getting the color as good as posible. Dont know what you guys thing. Should I do it other way around?

Looks nice, but the drab color looks a bit too grey on my monitor.

(BTW, I didn't know you could download skin-related fonts (...).  Where does one install them for Photoshop?)

Yeah the olive dab is off.

Does anyone have a RGB code for Olive Dab?

I so do miss skinnershaven.. :(

You install the fonts in your standard windows font directory. In my case D:\WinXP\fonts

Thanks, another question (hijacking your thread here); where did you get the USAAF code font?

An RGB code for Olive Drab is 93, 91, 43 but may not be committee approved.

Don't forget the black id bands on top of the wings and those white-wall tires.

As long as we're pointing things out :)

The red on the nose should extend right up to the front of the exhausts.  Your's ends a bit short of that right now

And of course "KIDD" on the left wing wheel door.

Dan your right on the red to the exhausts... the pic I made it of was wrong.. will fix..

Will definatly add "Kidd" on the wheel door just not gotten to it yet. Question though. Do you know how the right wheel door should be painted, if at all?

Right wheel door would have the spot where the wing ID band crossed it.  Nothing else

Both gear doors were painted with "Kidd".

I believe that I have seen a photo with "Kidd" on the right gear door as well. At least one commercial decal sheet for the plane provides two of them.
