Gents and Flossy,

Well Flossy is the only female UK player I know in the game.

Anyways,    I have a question about last names.   My mother was given up for adoption.     Without getting into the details of the whole messy thing could someone maybe shed some light please?

On my moms birth certificate it is shown that her last name is McCall.    She has always told me that her heritage is English.  I always thought with a name beginning with Mc it was Scottish.  Who is correct or is the  MC all over the whole Island?  IE: Wales,Scotland,England, and then Ireland off the coast.     Mom was born in Massachusetts.

We don't talk anymore so I really can't grill her on the whole heritage thing.

Mc; or Mac is indeed celtic; and is usually Scottish or Irish in origin.

Nonetheless; that doesn't preclude an English heritage; as many Scots and Irish live there.

And likewise you will find many people with English names living in Scotland and Ireland.

If you know her full names, DOB and perhaps place of birth you could look up her birth certificate here.
