I'd like to see the M-3 with the 75mm AT gun fixed forward
like they used in North Africa.  Since we already have the
vehicle, it should not be an insurmountable task to plop the
gun on top of it ;)

In fact the Germans used several variants of weapons on
their halftrack designs..would be fun to see one or two.  Since
the GV combat we have in the MA is much more akin to tank
destroyer warfare, it actually makes
more sense.

Found a picture of what I was looking for, the M3 Motor Gun
Carriage.  It apparently was ok against tanks, but more effective
as mobile artillery.

I would love to see the whirblewind in the game.     I think it should NOT be perked.  Why?  It has an open turret.   It would be fairly easy for cannon armed planes to disable the guns.    Even a small bomb would be able to completely destroy the whole vehicle because of the open turret.

On the other hand if this weapon system is implemented into the game and HTC does decide to perk it, I have 3K GV perks to blow.
I wouldn't personally perk it as heavily as the Tiger if it even rates as a perked GV.     Just my two nickles.

I've been saving vehicle perks for 3 years for the day they add the Whirblebird. Just think, M16 on steroids.... The day they add it will be a dark day of mourning for career vulchers.

40mm bofors would be as vunerable as manned ack to enemy fire, i dont think it would be very useful

Thanks guys for all the great input and suggestions.

Comment on Furball's statement, I would agree that Yes the Bofors gun {like all types of AA positions} would be vunerable to A/C fire and bombs.
However, the Bofors 40mm AA gun has some serious reach and was one of the most effective AA guns of WW2, the weapon is still in use to this day!

I don't want AH to become some sort of Uber ground gun slug fest, but as we continue to add more and more planes and more and more features, it only makes sense to even out the playing field somewhat.

As it is right now there is virtually no way to stop or even slow up attacking A/C at a field or city.

I know, I know........you're thinking "hey get out of that gun and up a fighter"
While this is a nifty concept you can not effectively engage an incoming attacker unless he's flying at 3000' at 200mph.

If I come to an enemy airfield at 8-10,000ft and dive in to attempt to kill a target, there is almost no way to stop me. The planes that are already "UP" for defense are easily by-passed and cant catch me 99% of the time. Keep in mind this coming from one of the biggest noobs in a plane, ME.

I don't want to take away from the excellent air aspect of AH, I believe there will always be pleanty of furballs and dogfights. I think there is lots of fun to be had in both ground and air activity.

As we get more and more new players to join AH, I think it only makes sense to allow for more & more roles to play. Being somewhat of a big GV'r myself I talk with a lot of players new and seasoned, there is a bigger demand for ground roles then one might think.

Again, great input guys

I'm not sure that's a Bofors 40mm gun or not, looks similar, but not sure. HT would have to answer that.

I would need to ask what purpose the PT boat {with the Bofors, if that's what it is} would serve at a field or city?

no, just thinking if it is on the PT boat, i doubt it would be very hard to move it across to a land unit as it is already modelled.

For the jeep I would like to be able to take 1 or 2 troops in the thing I know there has to be room for at least 1.
I think that could be usefull if say the last couple troops got killed running to the map room.  The thing has to be more agile than an M3.

Or imagine a mass of jeeps trying to run to town to take it... lol would make the fighter guys go nuts trying to kill em all kinda like roches....:lol
