Optest doesn't run
« on: August 23, 2005, 08:20:20 PM »
I started the test and carefully noted each step of the instructions.  Upon moving to step two of the test I ran the Optest.exe file from the AH2 folder and I got this error code:
Initialization failed with -9 mainWLD_Failed -1

My computer is an AMD 64bit 939pin 3500+.  My system memory is Kingston HyperX and I have 1024MB.  My video card is an nVidia PCIe 6800GT with 256MB video mem.

I downloaded the latest version of Optest.exe for the test after it failed in the previous version with the same code.

Thanks,  AKFloppy

Did you have it in your Aces High folder?

Mine doesn't run anymore either... I checked all the boxes in video settings, all the optest options that is.

After I checked these boxes I hit apply, and then the game froze and kicked me to desktop.  Now I try to go offline and the terrain loads, and it looks like its about to start up, but it just CTD's again.

Thanks guys, it is in my AH2 folder, as I said, I followed the directions exactly.  (I am a Computer Tech as well as a teacher of technology in public schools)  My AH2 folder is up-to-date.  It does have optimized views and Waffle sounds.  I do tend to keep a backup version of my "settings" folder as a backup in the case of a system crash.  It is a good way to keep my personal settings but I don't know if it adversely affects the test or not.
I do have AH2 installed in a Program Files folder on my E: drive not my C: drive.  I don't know if this could adversely affect the test as well.  Well, I hope this information is of help.  Thanks!  AKFloppy
