awsome find.
« on: August 27, 2005, 09:11:35 PM »
as most of you know i got hit by a car a little over a week ago.

so today i went looking for a cane to replace the ungainly crutches. i figured if i was gonna get a cane, why not get a pimp staff. so i go to a local vintage clothing store that has everything from authentic poodle skirts to disco medalions to metalica tour shirts. it soon became aperent that they had no pimp staffs but i looked around for stuff. i saw some camo jackets on a rack. uppon examination i noticed that they all had insignia on them. the first belonged to an air force master sgt. but the one that caught my attention was the U.S. Navy Seabees combat jacket. sure enough it belonged to a Lt(JG). so i was all like SWEET so i baught it fer $20. and the best part is it fits perfectly (perhaps this is a profacy?)

Well I didn't know you you got hit by a car.
Get well soon.
I got hit by a car twice, once on foot and the other time on bicycle.
Luckily in my case, not to much damage

I believe that is the insignia for Civil Engineering Corps.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Yep... it means he's not a line officer and he can't command a ship.

Ah i see..

I get a chuckle everytime i see someone around here wearing insignias or a uniform that he has not earned.

When I left the navy I removed all of the "junk" on my working uniform, but i still use it when i paint the house of do something that makes me dirty. Excellent outfit for dirty work and since its a very dark shade of blue without camo on it you really cant tell it used to be a uniform. :) The pants are great with nice big pockets and great quality fabric.

I kept the boots to and i dont think ill ever be able to wear them out.

yah. if i showed up to a DEP meeting in that jacket they would make me do about a million pushups for impersinating an officer. if i do wear it outside on like a cold day i will cover up the insignia.

and remember: "SEABEES CAN DO!"

Well... if you think that something anonymously used is more valuable than something new (for the same price), you go right ahead.
