I'm not the one demanding tribute from the world because we helped poor people in the past. I'm not one of the smug who's calling in markers.

Btw. when did we help other rich countries? France, UK etc. I'm quite sure they've had their share of disasters.

What happened in Tikrit today was a horrible tragedgy. Where do YOU get the right to presume that no one cares about the loss of life as a result of that stampede? American lives have been lost, and thousands wounded in an attempt to rid the world of a homicidal maniac who would just as soon gas, poison and murder at will any Iraqi citizen who dared question the motives or Saddam.

What you are missing my friend, and I use that term loosely, is that in the past, Americans have risen to the cause of defending themselves, and protecting the rights of other nations who would be threatened by dictators, fascists and oppressors. Add up lives lost between WW1 + WW2 + Korea + Vietnam and we're talking about MILLIONS. Those lives were given so the likes of you can sit at a computer screen and propagate your ignornace as to everything wrong with the USA today.

Please cite me one incidence of natural disaster or untold human suffering whereby Americans have not  risen to the cause, dug deep into their' pockets and contribtued generously to aid those who've been stricken.

What Hajo, myself and others are speaking of in this thread is self evident...why can't the nations of the world, who've enjoyed our protection and generousity over the past century, make some attempt at providing even a remark of remorse at the devastation that's impacted the Gulf states? No doubt you'l reply with your perspective as to why. That's your right, which many lives have been sacrificed to protect.

lol yeah we did most of the destroying back then.

When did we give AID or CHARITY to a rich country? Did we ever help the Netherlands with their flood catastrophes? When the river Rhine floods parts of Germany have we helped? How about that Italian mudslide that killed hundreds a few years back, did we help?

Yeah that was a great scheme. Destroy their countries and then loan them the money to rebuild.

Btw. after WWII most European countries were hardly rich, were they? (don't answer, rhetorical question)

WHEN DID WE GIVE AID OR CHARITY TO A RICH NATION?

Never.

Maybe if you'd pulled your head out from that dark damp strange smelling place you'd realize they will, just as they have in the past.
