Last night I took off out of A21 (10k)... 100% fuel in my -4 corsair....E6B showed 24 minutes of fuel......When WEP was engaged fuel jumped upto 27 minutes.....@ 21 minutes military power, WEP brought time to 23 minutes

OK, I'd say "for the last time" but then I'd be lying.

WEP: Wep is accomplished in serveral ways. I am by no means an expert but his is how I understand it.

In order to increase manifold pressure in the engine cylinders a substance is introduced to the fuel mixture to prevent detonation. Detonation will result in damage to the piston, cylinder, etc. Some engines use NO2 and other use water.

Water injection reduced the amount of fuel in the mixture so that when you engage wep in a water injection engine you are actually reducing the amount of fuel being introduced into the engine cylinders, thus decreasing fuel consumption.
