How many times have you tried to give someone a "check six"
but it took you 30 sec to figure out how to say thier call sign?

Most are easy to say and others I will just wing it.  For those number guys who cant get a name,  I dont even bother saying it on vox and just give the private text check 6.

Why bother alerting anyone to a con acquiring their six? If the friendly moves, he could spoil my gun solution. Can't have that nonsense.

I did that to a fledgling prefix squad once. All but two of them ditched their bombs and freaked out. :D

And then there's guys like me. There's the possiblities in order of occurance:
1. They call me Ozz and it takes me a second to check if ozrocker's around
2. They don't call it out because they can't figure out if it's OOZ or OZZ.
3. They call me OOZ and I still die.

Many, many times.

It usually goes " hey, uh....... you...uh  < finally go for the check 6 key>....  watch the Spit" as he blows up.

Then you see xx0N@eT99xx griping on the text buffer about no 6 calls.

All you have to do is just scream really loud into your mic with a falsetto voice. You'll get the enjoyment of ninety people cursing at you AND the guy will live; as long as he doesn't snap spin. Or bleed from the ears. :rofl

I got called "Light F00T" all the time when my moniker was LftF00T...made me very self conscious.

Whats even worse is when you try to manually check the person's six with the ' key and you have to cycle through about 20 friendlies before you get to the right one.   By that time, they are usually dead or dying.

Ah well.. having a name instead of a number isnt always better.

I get called scutt, schatt, scatt, shmitt and whatever.... i dont care, usually i know that i have one behind me already anyway. Best is having a bogy on my six and dodging him for like 6 minutes, someone says "check 6". I die laughing more than i get shot down.

Then there is my wife, hOOtrmma. Guys like to call her hootrman. Guess it's just hard to accept that a woman is flying in a F4U-1 ;)

Oh and the times that former NMY's come over to your country and it takes a sec for you to realize that their name is in green.
