sixpense... I don't really care what you think about it so long as you do not try to infringe on my constitutional rights... Your opinion is noted tho.

If it is important to you then I would suggest that you try to have the second amendment abolished or simply move.. there are plenty of countries governments and peoples who feel just as you do.

I don't know if I am a libertarian or not.... not a big "joiner" but... I do believe in democracy so long as there is guarentees that human rights are inalienable and not privilidges doled out by fellow citizens or government.

I believe the constitution of the U.S. is an allmost perfect document... too perfect for me to improve on.

I'm kinda wondering when it became almost perfect. Which amendment it was that put it right over the top.

Then I have to wonder... in the future, if we add an amendment, will it be more perfect?

"no... socialism is governemt extorting money from some to redistribute to others."

No, thats taxes. They dont use the word "extort" though, they prefer gentler terms. Dont pay them for awhile, then they use much clearer language.

And I would characterise people helping people as community, which rises above what form of government you happen to live under. In other words, caring for your neighbour. Thats why charities are always best left to NGOs, they do a better job than the state ever could.

I would definetly prefer to have my rifle and pistol with me in the event a great disaster were to occur in my region.  Ive seen way too many examples on the news lately why being unarmed is a really sad and pathetic condition to be in.  Might as well be dead already.

As far as I am concerned no one that is from or lives in Boston should have a car near any bridges.

Ouch mav!!  are you saying that ted kennedy killed more people with his car than you killed with your gun?

curval has tried to pin the racist badge on me for a long time.... I may well be by his standards (most everyone would) but from what I have seen... he seems to be more so than me.

sandie... the first ten amendments made the constitution a nearly perfect document.... adding more may or may not make it more or less perfect...  I think that about all the real human rights are covered in the first ten.... not sure we needed prohibition... that was the do gooders trying to improve things by banning something... silly stuff really.   I also think that the amendments are listed in order of importance although all are important.

I certainly want nothing to do with democracy without the restraints of human rights being exempt from the tender mercies of my fellow humans and a powerful government.

these things are rights... not privilidges.   they are inate human rights... we had them before the constitution.... we had them by being born.... they need to be protected tho from those who would try to enslave us.   Make sense?

Talking about this is great, expressing your worries and so forth is healthy. But it's time for action. Money is great, but what these people immediately need is time and manpower.

Nah we can't shut off the booze to Boston or MA. or they'll start trying to go to other areas and be a pain to them. If they stay drunk and at home they are far less likely to cause real trouble.

That's quite true. Trained manpower, not a rabble of well meaning boobs getting in the way with no clear idea of what to do, how to do it or even who to report to to help out. By letting the boobs get into the way, use up the roads, fuel, water, food there is less for the folks who really need it.
