How many Christmas Masses have you attended where a suicide bomber was a real and likely threat?
If you planned to attend a Mass that you suspected was likely to have a nutjob in a C4 vest blow himself up, would you still take your kids?

If you were at a Mass, previously believed to be perfectly safe, and someone in front of you yelled "Suicide Bomber!!", would you pick your kid up and put yourself between him/her and danger, or would you tromp on them in an effort to get to the door?

If you were at the above, but had no kids , and saw someone elses kid on the ground in front of you, would you attempt to shield them, or trample them?

Hillsborough Stadium, 15th April, 1989.  Not a riot, but a crowd control problem that was ineptly handled with fatal consequences for 96 people.

Ghana 1991, 120 soccer fans

Guatamala 1996, 80 fans

Lima Peru, 1964, 318 fans

Moscow 1982, 340 fans

Seems like when you get us (any of us) in a large group and panic goes thru the crowd, bad things happen to good folks.

news flash : there is no God :

it's just an invention, like santa claus or the tooth fairy, created by men dwarfed by their insignificance in the vastness and blackness of the universe, just like  a security blanket.

then the whole concept was perverted as leverage for power by smarter people.

I would never put myself in a position like that in the first place. If I lived in an enviroment where every large gathering was a potential target for a suicide attack, I'd never EVER take my family to attend one.

That's just plain stupid and the people who blindly follow their religion can only blame themselves. They knew the risks, accepted them and followed their beliefs even though it was strongly protested by common sense.

Anyone remember recent history in Saudi Arabia where a similar event took place? It seems that when people down there go to worship Allah, chances are they get to actually meet him quicker than they thought.

Every big city I have ever seen is just a mob/riot/stampede waiting to happen..  People get dumber in groups...

people are worse in big groups not better.
