Typically, when a thread goes south quickly (ie personal attacks, trolling, flamebaiting, flamewar, pursefight, cheat accusation, etc), the other people wasting time on the bbs try to get in the thread before it gets locked. It seems pretty standard to have a short response, usually just long enough to work the word "in" into the post. I have no idea why this is amusing, but it always seems to be.
