I just finished putting my new rig together and now im looking for a "decent" joystick to last me 3-6 months. Im thinking the saitech x45 or x52.
the reason being is after what i spent for the puter it will be a lil while till i can afford the higher end sticks and peddles.
so can anybody give me some ideas? pros cons or even name a stick im not aware of that wont cost an arm or leg?

There are many threads on the merits and cons or the Saitek X45/52. Try a search and see what happens.
I had the Saitek Evo Cyborg. I broke it. It was a very nice cheapo stick for the money. Twisty stick too.
I now have a cheaper Saitek 290 or something along those lines. Doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the Evo tho. Still a twisty stick and works fine for me.

I tried two different Logicrap sticks. Yuck.
Next was the Saitek EVO. I broke it as well.
And now for about nine months I've been using the Thrustmaster Fox 2 Pro. Not real fancy, but very reliable and durable.

Avoid Crapitech, I mean Logicrap, I mean, "them". Avoid their mouse and keyboard products as well. ESPECIALLY their crappy wireless keyboards (long story, but they suck).
