xargos... run one and I will vote for him.

nirvana.... your guys math don't add up and...

I notice that he only wants to get rid of the big government guys he doesn't like... For most of us the EPA is the biggest threat to our freedom... this guy wants to make em world police..

He isn't against government controling our lives... he just wants it to be a huge government that only controls other people and things he doesn't care about.

In short... punish everyone that he doesn't like and tax anything over an amount he thinks he will never make anyway and then give it all away to people who contribute nothing so that they can continue to contribute nothing..

Since many of the Dems I have known over the years seem to see themselves as modern-day Robin Hoods, I thought I'd write them a little theme song for the 2008 elections:

(with apologies...)

(To be Sung as a Duet)

"I'm Robin Hood from yonder wood, with my little bow and arrow!
I miss with ease, three out of threes, with my little bow and arrow!"

"I'm Little John, I've never gone on the road that's straight and narrow!

I get my pound, of what's around, with my little bow and arrow!"

"Two busy little men are we, giving your gold away!"

"We take from the wicked..."

"...and give to the good..."

and go happily on our way!"

"When days are rough, we ain't so tough, with our little bow and arrow!

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, we scare no foes, with our little bow and arrow!"

Lazs, here is a link to the Libertarian Party of California. http://www.ca.lp.org/

I don't see any right now that have much charisma, but I very much beleive in what they stand for.

have you read Molon Labe?   The libertarians are too wishy washy on the second amendment for me but I would vote for any viable libertarian candidate... problem is... in close races I vote republican to keep the democrat out...  I can't even get rid of the democrats much less get a libertarian in...

I don't know laz, this is their "official" stance:

Quote
15. THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
Because the right to life, liberty, and property implies a right of defense of self and property, and a right to acquire and maintain the tools to exercise such self defense, and because an armed citizenry is the final defense against government tyranny, we support:

A. The repeal of laws regulating the ownership and bearing of arms, including automatic or so-called assault weapons.

B. The elimination of registration and all other government records pertaining to ownership of arms.

C. The repeal of laws requiring permission from any government agency for any purpose relating to arms and ammunition.

D. The right of airlines and other common carriers to decide their own weapons policies.

Further, we oppose extension of liability to the manufacturers or vendors of arms for crimes committed by the users of such arms.

Amazing how MT's quote immediately marginalizes them, and with them personal freedom and responsibility...in exchange for corporate and social welfare.

I've been a registered Libertarian since 1989, I vote L on every ballot I can unless it is a close presidential race and even then (as in 2000/2004) when it is not close in my electoral college state.

I agree they have a snowball's chance in large elections because the two-party system and their willing accomplices in the media have rigged they system. But a vote  given to someone you beleive in is never wasted in my book, the only wasted votes are the ones not cast.

thrawn... the quote instantantly marginalizes both parties because it is dead on.

The offical liberatian policies on firearms is great but in practice they own less firearms (about 50% of em) than the rest of America...

Libertarians are mostly a back east group married to the states they live in even tho those states are all lost causes.

I would love to see a state that believed in freedom and the constitution succeed from the union.  I would move there.   The only possible ones tho would be western or deep south.

Secession is the equivalent of a declaration of war. Only Texas was given permission to do that without question. But most argue thet we lost that right in 1865 when we signed an unconditional surrender.

absolute and declared Secession is not really necessary.   simply controling a state and not obeying federal laws that are unconstitional would be good enough.
