Those of you who trade and manage your portfolios online, which would you recommend and why?  If you've switched from one to the other, why?

Or if there's another good online trading co. (TD Waterhouse?) give me some pros and cons.

I like scottrade, nice and cheap, easy to use. Its perfect for a guy like me, but it I am a small timer.  An active trader may need fancy tools, Scottrade has them but I dont use them very much so I cant tell you how well they do the job.

Whats the easiest way to,
And how much money do you need to get into the stock market?
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty

I would say an online account through your current credit union would be the easiest and probably the cheapest.  I chose scottrade because my credit union dosn't have a local office and scottrade does. ST requires 500 dollars to open an account.  My credit union only requires the balance be greater than the trade.

There are some guys on this board who are active traders, if they see this thread maybe they can give you some good starting advice.
