Ok, word to our friends in Nigeria, the Soviet Union, and China who are industriously working on Katrina Aid scams: Learn Basic English Syntax First...

Just got the following hilariously authentic email, complete with disaster pictures... Apparently it was put together by the same guy who did English subtitles for the Chinese language version of Star Wars 3.

American! The mayor of New Orleans is calling upon you.

   Our fatherland is in danger. Starting with 2001 year the ill safe unjust pursued our country, causing a great damage and taking the lives of Americans away. The first half of the world takes up arms against us, against Americans! I was down in Atlanta this weekend.  I saw many families walking on the street that were obviously refugees.  Then there were the panhandlers that claimed to be from N.O. and just wanted a quick bite to eat or other satisfaction.  I had two separate guys that were very persistent in asking for money, so I told them both each time if they were that hungry they could follow me to McDonalds which was in the area I was going.

One guy with a cane, who was apparently a diabetic gladly accepted the offer.  The other guy, who appeared to have nothing wrong with him immediately turned the offer down, and asked if I could just spare a few dollars.   His story changed from wanting food, to affording a bus ticket. :old rolleyes:


P.S.  The new rolleyes emoticon is not nearly as effective.
