Hey Bat, your computer illiterate squadie could use a decent avatar. something cool with a spit would be great, but if you could work something with a Douglas EA-3B that would be truly amazing.

I found a handy lil tool called the GIMP http://www.gimp.org/ and best of all it's FREE.

It's got a lil bit of a learning curve to use it, but it works good!

I did a lil tweakin to mine and and Holly's, nothing really fancy or anything, but a lil bit better than they were!

BTW, Furby did the bulk of the work on Holly's, I just tweaked it a lil bit.  :aok

Here after a couple of weeks of playin round with it, I might be able to give ya a lil bit of help here.

thats the understantement of the year!

I feel terrible that i made alot of people belive i would make them an avatar.  I swear that i had good intention from the start but when over 25 requests came in under 2 days, i got scared and hid under my bed for a few days, then i came out and admited my foolishness. lol

there are alot of you i still owe personal appologies for ceasing to communicate or not responding at all to. i hope this thread may have helped in some way where i failed so miserable.

brilliant to see how many of us took the step to make your own. thats the best thing to do with anything your want that is possible to make by yourself.

self productivity and success is they key aspect in self respect, and self respect is the key aspect to a happy life imo.

http://www.irfanview.com/

This free little program is a jewel when your playing with lots of images.

Opens & saves to every graphic file type known to man, yes even windows icon.
Grab a corner  to crop/cut with a single mouse click &  drag.

Extremely full featured and capable this program is amazingly small and well written. The only thing it does not do is create from scratch. You need paint, pspro, etc for that.

So small & well written it can be run from a CD without being installed at all.
Ohh yes & best of all, its free, totally free. No ads, no shareware, no nothing.
