It's a work in progress.  I annotated the page to reflect that now.

I think it's a little "too" worn out. K4s WERE new and hadn't been serving for 5 years by the time they were produced, and that paint scheme is very late war, so it would be more recently applied (and less worn). Aside from that, airmess has done some 109s before and can make a pretty sweet looking skin.

Agreed, the plane looks a bit worn out for plane just introduced in 1945. Do LW service people even clean their planes?:D

They actually took better care of their planes than some. I'd think this plane would be much crisper, so to speak.

Hi

About the wethering of the K's. Even when the K's came out in 45, don't forget that at this time there wheren't any hangars left and the planes had to be hide in forests etc. and covered with whatever was in the forest.

The brutal Winter of 44/45 and the lack of qualitatively good paint, cause of constant bombing of chemical plants, gave them the rest.

I checked a few b/w images of the K's and belive me, they didn't look good at all.

I might be wrong, but on my opinion the weathering is apropriate to the conditions the germans had to keep them in service.

Airmess, don't worry, we love the skin, we're just debating the finer details of it :P

All we can ask is that there be a reason for the way any particular skin is, and you've given your reason :)

:aok

Bah! :)

One skinner to another, if your intention is to make a wethered skin because of the late war conditions, then you've suceeded. Every skin is a judgement call. Yours was based on something I hadn't thought about. We were thinking about something you hadn't thought about. There is no wrong answer. There are just skins :)

Yeah, but is it gonna be perked? If the G-10 isn't, K-4 shouldn't be either?
