another thing i just thought of..
one of the smaller stories to come out of this is that otis airnatguard f-15s were scrambled just minutes late from stopping the 2nd plane.
I grew up living on the base here on cape cod, now i live just a mile from it and I know most all of the eagledrivers there. (i myself aspire to be one) not sure who the two guys were that scrambled but i know they're wishing they could have been just 15 minutes sooner on scene.
my one hope for this country is that our pride and rediscovered faith in our freedom will not fade away as a fad often does. right now it is incredibly popular to show our flags and goto our vigils and talk our patriotic or nationalist beliefs. But in 6 months, when the shock has worn off, i hope that i still see the same flags flown and those lost in this terrible tragedy still remembered as strongly as they are today.
