hummm... ive got hit over enemy territory... bailed and found myself desesperated! How to get in safe home walking if there is a big terrain until my friend lines or a dangerous sea???

How about... a Storch for rescue? Would be great to save others.   Also...
To save some work... the PT Boat could do it too.
Storch can get in one passenger and PT Boat 2.
Or just build another rescue boat.
If u guys want, the rescue plane can be a Lysander.  
Nice to have a Piper Cub to Spot Artilhery...

If they could add a code for the C47 so that yoou can rescue a down pilot. That way you can run up to the C47 or PT Boat and can board it. We can then do it with what we have now. Then we can later model other aircraft for this also. And someone could start anothe squad who specilize in this type of mission as well as para drops. they could be busy.

I think your idea is perfect. Get my a Storch (whatever) and my day is done. But emergency flares would be great then. The plane should by able to carry two guys, as it did in RL.

Hmmm... is this notion of rescuing downed pilots during WWII realistic?

I don't believe aircraft were used for more than the "search" part of that operation. Rescue had to be performed with ground units.

The addition of helicopters drastically changed the way we go about SAR missions.

Of course, I could be absolutely totally wrong.

This was posted on before. HT stated he wasn't interested in acting on it. He didn't feel there would be enough interest by players to make it worthwhile. Another point is that for every option you ask for in the game something else has to wait to be implemented.
