Pretty neat sim you got here
« on: September 18, 2005, 07:08:33 PM »
I must say it is pretty cool. I remember I used to play Aces High back in 1999 I think. It was fun but now it looks really cool. I downloaded the game and flew on some lonely missions. It was cool to see myself in control of three bombers! The new cockpits look amazing and I had a blast.

Anyway, I am in search of a good flight sim hobby again. I was wondering if perhaps someone could answer a few questions. First. Are there many squadrons out there recruiting? Second. As far as preference, what do you most of you enjoy more, the evening missions that have the historical setup, or just the regular arena?
And last but not least. Have any of you made any homebuilt cockpits for yourselves? If so i would really like to see.

That is about it. I was never a great pilot, just a slightly below average one. But I love the hobby and would really like to get back into it and it's obvious this one has come a long way. Very cool!

thanks

Welcome back, I am sure you will enjoy AH alot and get addicted like the rest of us.

As for squad recruiting, There are tons out there looking. I would suggest not jumping into the 1st squad that asks you. Fly around with different squads, get to know them, then make a decision.

Since TOD hasn't come out yet, the main arena is where the action is. As for historical mission that TOD will bring, it's uncertain at this time how successfull it will be. Then there's the combat theater where they have historical match ups as far as plane sets go, but hardly anyone plays there for the most part.

There is historical missions during squadop, wich is a squad only event. I you want to do those choose a squad that does em.Check the event page on HTC's website for more info on events.

My squad is doing em and we're looking for more pilots up to it, whatever the level. Check us on MA or on our website www.9giap.com

As for cockpits I never heard someone in AH claiming using one, but I know that exists "ask flight simulator geeks" :)

have a good one  :aok
