A great picture with even a better scenario

The damage on the P-38 seems abit photo-shopped though?

P.S. Note:

The untouched photo has the actual sun positioned right behind the vertical stab of the 47N, so the image was very washed out to begin. The hit sprites mask a majority of the 38 - I tried to clean it up and make it a higher contrast but there wasn't much that could be done. I'll try to post the unaltered shot in a few.

It could be one of Dan's P-38s, notice the bits and pieces leaving the aircraft? Its one of his tactics, his plane disintegrates and reassembles on your six to shoot you down. He's got the disintegration part down, he's still working on the reassembling part

Alright, I have to ask, are you ACTUALLY able to guess who is the P-38 pilot in that picture, and even be correct? If so, what gives away some the more famous P-38 pilots?
