Request for good P51 films
« on: September 20, 2005, 12:50:23 PM »
Title says it all. I'd like to see some films anybody has made in the p51(B or D). Hopefully not just picks and dives or anything, but actual fights (the longer the better!)

Here's one I made a while back.

I dont know how good it is... Or if its what you're looking for. AHF film has long been deleted due to emergency reformat on my PC. Its all one sortie though.

That is right along what I was asking for, yes!

I enjoyed it. Took a couple of interesting things away from it that I'll try when I fly the pony next time.

that's odd. Do you have windows media player? If you do, you should have no problem viewing it.

Right click and save as. After you download the film double click on it to open it like any other file. If you do have windows media player it should play fine.

The link is working though.

It has to do with your Windows Media Player settings. File association I think. Or the checkbox that says "Allow Media Player to access the Internet?" might not be enabled.

It's a player issue, not a file issue. Right click, save as, save the file to your desktop, once DL is complete double click the file. If THAT doesn't work your media player may be screwy

Had no trouble, either streaming or save-as. :huh

Krusty: Im by no means a skilled Mustang rider (I feel rather helpless with it), but maybe youll still enjoy. Its no BoreNZoom at least. And towards the end theres some good Pony driver joining...

Pony vs 109/Pony

Anyone who wants to give me pointers (on what to do better or just stay out of this plane) - feel free.

I thought you did pretty well, considering. I thought, however, that you were fighting the controls too much. You'd have had that 109 much sooner if you weren't fighting the nose bounce. I'd suggest playing with your stick settings on that one, or when you're about to start shooting hit combat trim for a second to help trim you out.

flaps:

I noticed that you did a roll and dive when chasing the 109, and you popped a notch of flaps, but left it out well into the dive. That will just slow you down right there. I think you left that notch out for a good 2 minutes. I also noticed you were flying at 200mph and had 3 (4?) notches of flaps out. I'd suggest if you have that much speed use it rather than trying to dump flaps and turn tighter (then again I'm not the best at flap fighting, this is just my intuition speaking for itself here).

Would it have affected the outcome of the fight? Probably not.

Good fight!

There is no advantage to firefox. Its more of a pain in the bellybutton than anything else. Not my problem. But I am sorry.
