Hope you folks on the gulf coast are paying attention. Rita's getting ugly and there's nothing cold in the way to slow her down any. This isn't one you want to sit out.
I hope you all make it out in time.

I`m assuming you mean weather wise.
Katy is still well in the clear. The storm is not predicted to hit until weekend.

I-10 is 30 minutes from Beltway 8 to Barker Cypress, bumper to bumper. That's barely 5 miles. Gonna get worse.

I-45 N from Galveston to Huntsville is 14 hours.

We're backroading it from Katy all the way to at least Conroe, probably Huntsville before even bothering with 45N. 8 hours & I'm outta here.

I'd also like to add that here at my day job, they're not closing until 3pm Saturday. All of the other dealerships in Houston closed at noon today... except us & our sister store.

Time to prepare? Nah, we don't need it. :huh

Amazing that somebody would endanger so many of us for a few bucks.

Anybody know if that's criminal negligence yet? Or does somebody have to get killed first? :furious

If your going to San antonio I'd say try to hit 290 to HWY 6 then come to B/CS and take 21 west to San Antonio. It may take a lil bit but the roads arent as congested as the Interstates are.

Also Hwy 6 to Dallas isnt bad either.

I got a call from Grocer's Supply today. They are the largest independant grocery supplier in Texas. They are locking down their central warehouse and sending most of their trucks to Dallas thursday. May be the last delivery for a while if Houston takes a hit. Lots of small towns across Texas may not get any food until they reopen.
