Coffee in the morning--there is nothing better!!

Yes I admit it, I am a coffee snob.

I am one of those people you know in your office that grinds the beans and uses a coffee press because I refuse to drink the colored water that the "office" coffee resembles.  Besides you get the best buzz from pressed coffee.

Udie's eyes roll to the back of his head as he takes a bite of his bacon egg and cheese croisant and takes a sip of his coffee

Whenever I get down towards "My-YAH-me" (Cuban pronunciation), or if you prefer, "My-AM-muh" (Florida cracker pronunciation) otherwise known as Miami, I get that ole black magic, Cubano Expresso, served on the sidewalk. One jigger will  definately perk you up. It isn't the same enjoyement as having your morning joe with the newspaper though...

Last semester I used to need that little extra kick to get me through the day coffee just wasn't cuttin it anymore so I went to double shots of espresso.... I think I was up to about 8 shots a day during finals.... after that I was seeing double and hearing voices in my head for a while.

Tea for me, thank you!  Too much caffeine in coffee...actually, Tea has alot too, but only if you steep it along time.

No I have not had Petes coffee.

Here in Kansas City we have a local brand called Roastarie.  I have been to few fund raisers at his shop.  He brings in green beans and roasts and then blends the beans.  If you ever get a chance to watch the process do it.  Tasting fresh roasted, ground, and brewed coffee is coffee lovers dream.

<-- Believes you aren't offically out of bed until you have taken the first sips of coffee.

LOL Soulyss, I know EXACTLY what you mean.  I only hope your school has a better policy than ours regarding finals.  Last term I had 4 finals in a ROW, ALL on the same day.  (A Monday at that.)  First one was at 7:30 AM.    That day ranked right up there under the "worst days ever" list.

For more than 20 years now I've had my 1-2 liter of coffee every day. Some has tasted good, some real bad - but no coffee no go ;=)

But ohh grusome world, the latest couple of years Ive felt the cruel weight of time burdon my shoulders. And stomac.
Now has come the time of milk in my coffee and water in my malt whiskey.

Ugh.

Ingrediants

1 small wood fire burning down to coals
1 old fashioned enamel coffee pot
2 qt's water, best you can get
2 sm scoops your fav coffee. (Mines a Hazelnut, Kona custom blend)

Place all ingrediants in coffee pot, sit back & watch planes in the pattern at Oshkosh while waiting.
Bring to a boil, cool for 1 min to allow grounds to settle.

OTOH, I wouldn't turn down a glass of Williams Selyem pinot noir in the morning either.
