I just had a thought, and forgive me if it's a stupid question, but I'm wondering.
Does the Nielsen rating system track recording units?
If they don't and the use of digital video recorders becomes wide spread, it stands to reason that the networks won't have a good statistical sample of people watching their programming.
In affect, ratings would be determined by people that either can't operate a DVR or can't afford one. Note: for anyone here that hasn't discovered the joy of DVR, I don't intend this as a slam.
