Another UT mod? The original TTR (1.3) wasn't even as good as RO...

The new TTR (TTR:Hell in Huertgen; TSE) doesn't look much better...

The game has been out for roughly 4-5 years. It's the new version that's not out yet.

DOD:source is the "Counterstrike" for WW2 fps freaks.
i played the old DOD for years, it was the best online ww2 fps
for me at least.

By the way, for those who don't know, The Third Reich will be completely free. The dev team is shooting for graphics around the standards of Unreal 3.

The community mostly. I've been a member of the TTR community forever.

Then I joined the RO Community. And I guess it's not surprising when an Eastern Front mod picks up extreme communists along the way (literally). It was stuff that would make boroda blush. I put up with that **** long enough until I finally uncorked on some 14 year old who was bashing the US and capitalism on their forums.

I was smacked hard with the Ban Stick. I never went back to that website. Nor the game.

Around the same time all the good team members went to another mod (for HL2) called Insurgency : http://www.insurgencymod.net . I've been hanging out there ever since.

I played TTR 1.2 - 1.3 for a bit but I thought RO was better. Unfortunately, for me RO gets boring quick. You run into times where no one is doing anything except hiding.

The thing DoD is its fast paced, small maps and easily definable choke points. Its not designed to realistically recreate infrantry combat, its designed to be high energy and fun first.

The old lead of RO (Jeremy) is over at INS too. He's pretty much the reason why RO was so successful, but then he got kicked out by a dick programmer.
