Can I offer one combination wish/suggestion?

I wish someone would do a P51B and a P51D in the same group markings from the same time frame so that should folks want to take a gaggle of 51s up they can mix and match and still have the same group markings.

Flying that mission in 51s the other night made me wish for a silver 4th FG P51B to go with a silver P51D in 4th markings as an example.

To me it does no good if you have a May 44 P51B and a November 44 P51D as the markings are going to be completly different.

A couple examples of what I mean. Both images from the fall of 44.

Well, the 4th's P-51D QP-O "Red Dog XII" is finished and TexMurphy has been working on a P-51B QP-L "Salem Representative" also from the same FG and Squad. Someone is also working on a checker tail B that will go with the D I did earlier. Don't know if they are from the same time period though. There is also no guarantee that they both will make it into the game but your wish may come true. Just got to keep on believing.

Red Dog XII is from 45, Salem Rep is from May-June 44. Ahh well, someday it may work out

"Red Dog XII" is my sixth D so I'm cringing at the idea of doing another. HTC tries to display the work of as may skinners as possible so I may have already exceeded my limit on D's. (Maybe Skuzzy could jump in here and give a few words on the subject.)

My resources are limited to whatever I can find on the web. So if you want to find a P-51B that will go with Citabria's "Big Beautiful Doll" from the 78th FG, or find the sister of any other D that has been done and no one as committed to doing the B (332nd, 361st, and 479th for example), I'll consider doing it. I could even be talked into doing a pair (a B and D) but I think we would be pushing our luck to get the D in the game.

I think having a B and D in the same group markings from the same time period is a good idea. Maybe we can get things headed in that direction. Keep the faith dude.
