Why they don't loot in Texas
« Reply #30 on: September 30, 2005, 09:40:49 AM »
you don't know anything about me six.  or the process.  I have explained it to you but you, as usual, can't see what is right in front of you.

By working for the city I have opted out of the social security program and by making my own budget I am competeing against private companies... if I lose... most of the private companies have said that they would keep me at a huge increase in salary and golden parachute guarantee... they would of course fire all my guys and replace them with half the number of underpaid drones who would give the city spotty and dangerous servic in about 80% of the cases I have seen and excellent but more expensive service in the remaining 20% with no guarentee of future costs.

Getting out of social security was a move away from government control.   Also... because of my certification... I control the facility... I can and have told politicos "love to do what you want but.... it's frigging illegal soo... no can do"

What do you do by the way?

Sure I do, I see it all the time, you are not fooling anybody. Shouldn't you be out working, or are you going to keep posting at the taxpayer's expense?

I took yesterday off because it was my birthday... today is my normal day off.   What is your point?

And what do you see all the time?   I bet you don't even know what you are seeing when you see people working on the street or why they are doing what they are doing.

You didn't answer... what noble thing do you do for a living?

I work for the government, put up fences(2-3 days a week) and help a buddy when he is short handed(roofing, and I hate it, but feel bad if i don't help)

Are you saying that I am lying about my 9/80 work plan?  why would I do that?  or maybe you think I am lying about my birthday?

You work for the government?

Nothing wrong with that I suppose.   Lots of people work for the government and are of service to the public.  If you work for a city in parks or streets say.... then you are doing a job that is needed for the people..

If you work for the atf or irs or some regulating agency you are probly scum...  what kind of "government" work do you do?

Well, we are "quasi" federal, which simply means we are federal when they want us to be, and non federal when the want us to be. I deliver your mail. Well, not to your door anymore, I changed crafts from letter carrier to mailhandler so I could contract during the day.

Ahh... well, that is a needed service.  How do you feel about letting private contractors bid on mail delivery?

In some respects you are competing.... well... not you personaly...you don't have anything to do with it.... your bosses are... UPS  against fedex.   This has been healthy for everyone.

There is no shame in providing a service for people unless you seek to keep out competion or are a beurocrat who is useless...

I have never said any different.

for instance... teachers unions are making sure that we have sub par and extremely overpriced education and removing all choice.... they are evil.

parks workers or mailmen are not evil...  that kinda thing... get the gist of it?

but... mini vans are still evil... in an effiminate kind of a way..

Actually, it is happening as we speak. They contract off small parts more and more. I say in ten years a good part of it will be private.

Now I can't give an opinion on the post office being private because it would be bias. But if you think a private company is going to deliver a letter in rural Kansas for 37 cents, forget it.

I went to wentworth about 2 months ago to ask about some classes, they have been calling me, I need to follow up on it.

I have no problem with the gun handling in the picture.  I am sure that all those guys are great guys and fun to be around... I have mostly seen that gun and car guys are the best.

Ripsnort - HTC may pull that picture. I once had a post deleted for no other reason than it contained the words looting and shooting in the same sentence.
