My grandfather, Lt. Col. Elbert Price (who I have spoken about on this board from time to time. He flew Corsairs in WWII and Korea as a Marine in VFF-323) has been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas and liver. JUST got the results in today. Docs estimate 4 months...with chemo probably a year.

My dad's in Greece on business and my mother is a wreck. If y'all can spare some prayers tonight, they'd be appreciated.

Looks like he was admitted to the ICU a couple of days ago. Blood clots in his lungs and in his legs. They put him on blood thinners to attempt to break the clots. He appears to be ok for now, but everyone's keeping an eye on him. No new news on the cancer, yet.

I'm trying to get his memoirs down as fast as I can, but he has been getting tired really easily lately and won't finish what he starts. I don't have much, and it's damn sure not enough for me. I don't think I'm going to be able to get all his stories down before we lose him.

All I've asked him for when he finally goes is his logbook and his medals. Those are his legacy for me, and once he goes they will be all I've got left to tell those stories. If I ever get the story of how he got his DFC, I'll post it.

What a week.
