Aren't  mustard gas and nerve gas shells  wmds?  He already used them against Iran in the Iran-Iraq War.

He tried to build a ballistic cannon that would fire a shell 300 miles, and was building a nuclear facility.

His troops torched oil wells in Kuwait in an attempt to destroy the oil fields.  Had those fires not been put out and were still burning today, what would the air be like?

If Saddam wasn't caught with wmds that doesn't mean they weren't there.  Seems foolish to think they weren't, considering Saddam's terrorist record.  One of the worst terrorists in modern times.  Good riddance.

Saddam 'confesses' crimes

08sep05

IRAQ'S president yesterday said Saddam Hussein had confessed to killings and other crimes during his regime, including the massacre of thousands of Kurds in the late 1980s.

President Jalal Talabani told Iraqi television he had been informed by an investigating judge that he was able to extract confessions about crimes such as executions that the ousted leader had personally ordered.
Asked about specific examples, Mr Talabani, a Kurd, replied, "Anfal", the code name for the 1987-1988 campaign, which his Patriotic Union of Kurdistan maintains led to the deaths of about 182,000 Kurds and the destruction of dozens of Kurdish villages.

Not what I'm talking about.  But thank you for making me aware of this.  If so then another good reason for war.  Saddam was the leader of Iraq and should be held responsible for the actions of the government.

I don't suppose he confessed to the WTC while he was at it?

oops... different guy.

The problem guys like you have is that.... While your awakening to the plight of the world's citizens is touching - nobody buys it.

All of a sudden you expect us to believe that you've always had a soft spot in your heart for Kurds?

Give me a break. Yer basically using dead Kurds to buffer an insane argument, while expecting us to actually believe that you have ever really cared about dead Kurds.

Pfhhht. No way.

He should. He did that too.

He also blew up the levees in New Orleans.

When I was in junior high school, someone stole my bicycle off the rack. Cut right through the lock. I don't have any proof, but I think he did that too.
