graf's (first) 190a5

This is the first one, without the bright yellow on the cowling. I've still got to tweak the camo a lot and the weathering layers are all turned off. This is just a preview.

I need some help, though. When Graf was flying this 190 he was in the "Jagd Erganzungsgruppe Ost" which if I recall is some sort of development/training unit. One webpage I searched listed him as being in: "JGr Ost" -- but I'm not sure if that's a real abbreviation. Is this the proper unit, and how do I list his squad for the 190a5.txt file??

Also, does anybody have a close-up picture of the white circles with "202" in it and green laurel leaves around it? Or something similar that I can make my own based on it?

look good but (there is allways a "but" :p)

The medium gray look a bit to light and the light gray is too light (IMO of course :))
Why the white border around the red petal on the cowling ?

Only one source does *not* have the white border, and that is the profile I posted for comparison. All others, including scale model decals, and even the later model with the yellow cowling all have a white border. So I put it in.

I'm worried that maybe the greys are a little too light. I have a B&W picture of the real deal (the one with the yellow cowling) and it's not such a dark color. The colors are all rather light, despite the picture's contrast being too harsh.

Is this better? It seems to better match the proper colors of the time, but I'm not sure if its lost something in the transition to darker greys.

iron cross would look totally out of place on the tail. Unfortunately that's the way it has to look. I just hope that when I put on the circle with "202" in it on the rudder it will help allieviate the problem.

Well I won't trust a old B&W picture for contrast (expecially an old film) the best way to do it is to do it acocording to your feeling :) (I know it don't really help)

I think I'm done.

Also got a pretty cool action shot offline.

Will post some finalized pics later, now have other things to get ready for.

1) It's too "clean" because that image is washed out (looking at the sun). It's got weathering on it, stains and discolorations, but this is a plane from the time when the LW kept good care of their front line fighters, so I didn't go overboard.

2) 190s don't use the materials file. That's only for planes with BMF.
