Redd - Cricket/The Ashes - rubbing Australia's noses in it!
« on: October 08, 2005, 03:36:19 PM »
I had to laugh at an email my brother just sent me. A new series of postage stamps has been introduced, commemorating this summer's Ashes Test series between England and Australia.  As well as being represented on the first class stamp for inland postage, there are two other stamps valued at 68p - which just happens to be the postage rate for sending a letter to Australia! :lol

I suppose I'd be happy if you finally one it after 18 years too...I'd buy those stamps now if I were you Beetle, cause they'll be collectors items after the 2006 series - and we smoke you lot again :aok

Wha?  Is this some sort of gay pride thing?  It's nice that your government is progressive enough to be accepting of that type of lifestyle!

Yes, yes! Give me your postal address, and I can use one to send you a letter! :D:p

Don't know about 2006 - old Warney will have retired by then, won't he? Where will you be without him?

Anyhow, I want to wait till 2007, so I can arrive in Melbourne aboard an A380.

Well Tronski, without McGrath and Warnie I don't you having much of a side... or chance. :D

It was a great series though. A bit too nerve-wracking in parts.

Ahhh Warney might be still playing...but you lot were lucky that Glenn McGrath was injured before the second test or it would've been all over for you lot...but thats ok, theres more chance of Ian Botham becoming King of England than there being an actual English sporting winning streak   :p

The lack of Jones could also be said to have been unlucky for England. But hey, we had such a depth of talent it didn't hurt us too much. I think it helps not to rely on one or two players. :p

Well I suppose being the best for so long it makes change hard - but hopefully the impending sub-continent tours, and the usual long summers will give time to blood a few young'ns before the return series in aus...but I wouldn't be hiring a trophy polisher just yet you pommy buggers :aok

The trophy polishing industry in England has been decimated over the last few decades. You'd be hard pressed to find one. ;)
