Hmmm... let's run down the long list of good movies that were adapted from video games...

He's just the executive producer.

By the look so far, I'm betting it'll stink on ice. http://imdb.com/title/tt0464037/fullcredits

The *local* feeling on this is not good. Like Sandmans says, videogames + movies = flops. PJ may be a god, but no good can come of this.

There has never been and possibly never will be a decent video game movie. Die hard fans will gripe about inaccuracies and people who don't really know won't get the gist of the movie.

Games with really good stories like Max Payne or Half-Life might be decent, but not blockbusters.

No, Mortal Kombat 1 did good.  The others were a joke.

Mario Brothers WAS bad.  Really Really bad.  Doom is going to be awful.

But the Tomb Raiders were surprisingly good.  I was hesitant to see them, but glad I did.

What about the one SEGA made about the zombies that the actors had to kill and there were scenes from the game cut into the movie. That was THE worst movie Ive ever seen.

I don't know... he shocked the world at how well he did LoTR.  Than again, he had a great story line already there.

He was also the director of LOTR. He's the Exec Producer of Halo. It's not exactly a "creative" position.

Yes but they got Martin O'Donnell to do the original music.  He was the assistant engineer in "little shop of horrors" 1986

Movies that you know will suck.

1. Movies based on video games.

2. Movies based on comic book characters.

3. Movies based on animals/babies that talk and/or compete in human sporting events.

4. Movies based on action adventure TV shows.
