Did you notice a big jump in performance when you upped the ram to 1 gig?

I seldom run multiple heavy programs myslef so im not sure if i will actually notice a big leap in performance.

I´m a web developer, and I mainly use Firefox because the DOM calls in Javascript is far more strict than IE... if it works in FF, it will work on almost any browser.

there are also some great tools for debuging your web apps with some FF plugins.

One of the biggest pains about FF is its poor to abysmal cacheing implementation.

Dunt get me wrong. IE is a pain and you have to be careful to not fall into the trap of using MS proprietary things (although I do like being able to set the scrollbar colors).

I have to use FF as I do the WEB site here, and since I loaded it, I have found it to be a pain. Had to set the cache size to 0 in order to actually see what I am doing.
I constantly get complaints from people who use FF, such as when we release a patch to the game. They cannot see it unless they refresh the cache.

Problem is when it works well its "OS X", when it doesn't its the "underlying BSD code" thats the problem.

I've not had any problems with FF's cache. I wonder if people are getting it up-to-date though.

I use a combination of IE and FF. I use IE for websites I trust, for the firewalls, and any other browser based management such as printers. I won't use IE for anything else.

I run X-Plane & Targetware on my iBook, so I expect the extra RAM is of use to me, but I bought it with the extra 512kb installed so I'm not certain that I need it. Probably it will extend my machince's useful lifetime some.

thats really weird cause I never have problems with the updates to the website with FF.

But I do get that problem when Im on AOHELL which uses IE
