All in all, I think the Chino air show is more fun than Edwards AFB.

I have, but it was at NAS Miramar in the mid-eighties. Man, we had a blast. Our squadron was selling beer right next to the booth that was selling polish sausages.

San Diego in the summer... the scenery along the booths was every bit as good as the show. :D

If so, I think she would want to meet some comrades in language. My friends’ wife speaks Russian and actually lives on base. When are you going to be there? A person from SimHQ (http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=142&t=000661 ) wants to come also, so we can have small ‘sim get together’.

Well now there's this evil monopoly entity called AAFES/Services.  They control EVERYTHING that is sold there.  If you sell something they get a chunk.

Last Air Show edwards had I had to work our Egress booth on Saturday for half the day and I had to work the Grill on sunday and cooked 400 Plus hamburgers.

I guess it's better than picking up trash or being a road-guard.

I dunno when specifically - Saturday probally around start time whenever that is. She doesn't care if there is anyone around who speaks Russian so its not a priority at all. So long as its a good time - the SFO show last week was kinda wack because of all the crowds and the viewing options really sucked the fat one. So it would be good to make up for that blown opportunity. I'll PM my info to u.

You know what cracks me up about Air Shows,

We have all these rules reguarding access to cockpits and all and De-arm For static display and such.  yet they prep all these air craft for public viewing in which millions of the public walks around them.

Low and behold most of these jets don't have their egress systems de-armed and any joe shmow can READ the INSTRUCTIONS on the side of an F-16 and pull the Canopy Jettison handle from the outside and launch the canopy into a crowd.

What's funny is I was explaining the F16 system to my wife at the last Air Show and she pointed out to me that the instructions are painted on the side of the cockpit as how to jettison the canopy and that anyone could do it if they knew how to read.  Me, knowing there were snipers on the roofs of the hangors decided not to show her how the access doors open....that and the fact that it's my wife we're talking about here.
