Too bad the Astros are gonna whup up on em!

Unfortunately my team is out, but I want to see Clemens win at least one more before he really retires.

Missed the Chicago game, but I did see the NL game and it was well... interesting to say the least. :)

RTS - best of luck to the Sox! I never saw them play though, but was around when Steve Dahl did that burning up of disco records at the old Comiskey Park. I have been to Wrigley Field on a number of occasions though. Where in Chi-town do you live?

Hey Beet1e, I live in Homewood, 15min south of Chicago, next to I-80.

I've seen both Cubs and ChiSox play back in the day when I was young but now I either watch it here at the frat house or go to the bars and watch it there.

ah, Homewood! I've been there - waaay south...

I used to work not far from the old Comiskey Pk - at 33rd and Central.  I've always felt that baseball was a game best watched at the park, not on TV.

BTW RTS Wasn't 1959 also the year that the IL tollway opened, charging 30 cents to take the Kennedy downtown?

GO SOX!!!

That team and especially the fans are so hungry for a World Series win you can almost taste it.  You can see it in the players demeanor and that Chicago crowd sure knows how to support thier team.  Watching and listening to them during the three games vs the Red Sox (and after vs the Anah, er Los Anaheim of the Angels, er Anagels__, er, those damn Angels with the new stOOpid name)  the chearing by  the White Sox fans never subsided in the least.

I knew the feeling as a Red Sox fan when they did the impossible last year and ended that 86 year drought:)

I'm rooting for the White Sox. After all how bad can that "other team" which Carlton Fisk played for be? ;)

Cheaters

Not so much cheaters, just knew when the calls were right. You have to admit the Angels made some bad fundamental mistakes. And might I add there were calls not in favor for the ChiSox as well.

If you want to see bad calls, watch last night's Cards v. 'Stros game with the ball-called-strike. That was ridiculous.

Actually RT my family all comes from Chi-town. I'll root for the Sox. Of course they are all north-siders, so I can't let them know I'm rooting for the Sox. Saw my 1st game ever in Wrigley in 1967.

The only cheat / bad call I'm refering to was that 3rd strike in the "dirt". Heads up play by the batter, lousey call by the ump.

Understood, it was a very bad call but it has happened, but it didn't affect anything or the wins the Sox provided the next few days.

That one call in the Cards v. Stros game was even worse than this one.
