So I saw the original when I was young and it scared the bejeesus outta me. Naturally when I saw they were remaking it, I had to go see it. I figured it would be simular to the old one, boy was I disappointed!
For those of you thinking about seeing it, know that it's not really the same movie. The only thing that remains the same is the title, the town name and the betrayal. Other than that it's like a whole new movie and not in a good way. They've turned a great old school horror movie into another nameless and easily forgotten cheesy teeny movie(ghost ship, darkness falls, etc)
For those of you who haven't seen either the old one or the new one, rent the old one it's MUCH better!!! And I'm not bias, I wasn't even born when the 1st one was made lol. So my final conclusion is wait for this one to hit the video store(maybe wait till it's on TV for free:D ). I'm sure it won't take long to get there.
