LOL, I wasn't around for those good old days, but we used to have maps in WB2 with Godzilla popping up now and then. In one he was standing on shore, another you could find him swimming out at sea.

In another we had the wreck of the SS Minnow on the beach of one of the little islands offshore.

Then there was the volcano with the kite-eating monster. Had a volcano in the middle of a map that was so wide and deep that inevitably you'd end up in a fight in it once in a while. Had the face of a demon or monster or something in the lava if I remember right.

The giant octopus on pizza was too cool.
The dar bar it created drove me nuts till I figured it out. :)

On one of the old AH maps (Mindanao, perhaps?), when you repeatedly attacked Squiddy, one of his eyes would get a big X in it, then the other, not unlike old cartoons. My AH1 squad spent a ridiculous amount of time one night trying to kill it. If the Germans had giant cartoon squids in the 40s, they might have taken over the world. Those buggers take a lot of ordnance to kill.

Was it AH1 or AW where you could blow up the little sheep, and they'd scream? That used to freak me out. Actually, it wasn't the screaming of the lambs that bothered me... it was the silence.

good to see your still alive artlaw

Ma should defanantly get these old things back!  There seems to be a transformation happening slowly easing realism into ma to get ppl in the mindset for TOD once tod comes out ma should get really crazy!

I think thats how you have to implement things to a mogg community, if you load too much on em to fast you will lose your players, if you slowly ease something in ppl will often not even notice, heck maybe there will be no combat trim someday!

No, those things had nothing to do with realism or the changes for TOD.
