350 Squadron RAF, meaning it was a Belgian squadron flying with the RAF.

The particular Spit XIV didn't have much of a career as it got there in March 45 and was damaged on May 2, 1945

Info of a great site on 350 Squadron

http://home.scarlet.be/~braf/350Sqn/index.htm

Spitfire XIV SM825   (MN-M)

MN-M SM825 was built as a Spitfire XIV by Supermarine Aviation (Vickers) Ltd at Southampton as part of the 11th order for 150 Mk XI dated 12 February 1944. Built as Mk XIV’s and XVIII’s between February 1945 and January 1946. SM825 was passed through 6 Maintenance Unit and sent, on 10 March 1945, to 350 (Belgian) Squadron at B.78 Eindhoven. It suffered Category AC damage on 2 May 1945 and was transferred to 409 RSU

An old Spit XII driver I got to know was CO of that crew for a bit.  His name was Terry Spencer.

Nice looking kite btw.  Now how bout an XII? :)

One comment on the markings.  Was there a photo of this Spit XIV that had the right side squadron codes in front of the roundel?  Wartime photos of other 350 Squadron XIVs all show the codes behind the roundel on the right side which was the general practice of the RAF.  NOT ALWAYS, but for the most part.

The USAAF did put the squadron codes in front of the national insignia as general practice, on both sides of the fuselage

Ah, no more .303 option.  I always preffered that one.  Too bad.

Looks mean other than taking my .303s away. ;)

I see it has the reduced length ailerons that the current Spit XIV is missing.  Good detail attention that.

It is a development environment screenshot.  Those numbers almost certainly mean nothing to the final release.

There is really no reason to spend GPU/CPU cycles rendering them in 3D when you can almost never see them.  It is much better to spend the polygons elsewhere.

We're getting one or two new Spits and a different Seafire.

We are getting the Spitfire LF.Mk XVIe with clipped wings and maybe the Spitfire LF.Mk VIII if SUPERFLY has time to do it.

The Seafire Mk IIc is being replaced with a Seafire L.Mk III.
